Mindy's Love Boutique is a comic project focusing on sexual health in it's many forms and relationships. The story takes it's place in a love boutique run by a young woman named Mindy, and her employee Liz. They help their friends and customers to find solutions to better their sexual life and ponder together questions around sexual orien
tation, gender identity, relationships and communication.
Mindy's Love Boutique came to be in the late 2018 and have taken many forms ever since. Mindy's Love Boutique was first published on Instagram with nine panel stories, which then became two zines consisting of one page short stories. In 2020 Mindy's Love Boutique became a Webtoon comic, where the page count became longer and the focus of the stories shifted from the customers of the shop, to the personal lives of the main characters.
Behind Mindy's Love Boutique is lots of research from various sources and interviews about sex toys and safe sex practices, but it's purpose is to be entertainment and to inspire people to approach it's contents with curiosity and open mind.
In 2019 Mindy's Love Boutique was discussed in a panel "Comic As a Tool for Sex Education" at Zine Fest, Helsinki Comic Festival.
The comic has gotten lots of positive feedback for it's positive and heart warming approach to subjects that are still taboo for many.
